DAD & CHRIS DESTROYING THE OLD DECK

THE PORCH AWNING IS ON THE LEFT. THE TWO PILLARS FRAME THE ORIGINAL PORCH.

THE AWNING UP CLOSE. WHY?! WHY?????!!!!!!!

SCOTT AND CHIRAG PRETENDING TO STRUGGLE WITH THE SUPER LIGHT AWNING.

After ordering the dumpster on Friday and having it arrive on Saturday, we threw up the bat signal and called over my brother, Chris, Scott's dad, and my sister's fiance, Chirag, to help us demolish the worst and more dangerous structures in the yard.

On Saturday when Scott arrived home from work, he and I walked around and collected random stuff that was left in the yard by the sellers and added it to the driveway with the rest of the stuff that didn't get taken by the Craigslisters in my Driveway bazaar on Thursday.

On Sunday Chris came over to lend a hand taking down the rotting deck. The wood of this deck was so soft almost no tools were needed. Scott, Chris, and my father in law worked for about 4 hours straight and took the whole thing down to nothing. Thanks Snooky!

On Monday Chirag arrived to lend a hand with cramming the dumpster and taking down a wacky awning that was part of the porch. We have a very nice, traditional cottage style porch, yet the previous owners saw fit to add a strange auxillary cover to the end which basically just kept the sun from shining into the living room windows and helped contribute to the shanty look of the house. Chirag and Scott made quick work of it and even got it into the dumpster. Thanks Chirag!

Now we have managed to remove the worst of the worst in the yard. What a milestone. Next step, the final landscaping!
