The Simple Life: Pots & Pans

Living in less than 850 square feet means that we have to learn to do with less. We don't have a garage or a ton of storage space, so we need to be aware of what we have, whether or not we need it, whether or not we love it and where we'll keep it.

One example of this is our cookware. We registered for this fantastic cookware from Calphalon when we were married nearly 6 years ago. With the exception of the larger of the non-stick pans, they are still going strong. We replaced the lost pan with an eco-pan, a ceramic based, healthy alternative to toxic teflon.

By choosing pans that have lifetime warranties, and taking care to maintain them with bleach-free Barkeeper's Friend we have made a sustainable choice. Buying things that last helps to reduce the pollution produced in manufacturing new stuff, and keeps unwanted/discarded stuff out of the landfill.

So for all of our cooking, parties, and Sunday morning breakfasts we have this one stack of pans kept in a lower cabinet and save space and the environment at the same time.
