Inspiration: Decorating with Branches

The Knot In our eco cottage style, I think branches would be the perfect accent for parts of the living room. We recently added two bookshelves to the room and so far, they have nothing on top. Seasonal decor for Halloween was up for a while, but now they host two lonely pumpkins and that's it. So I started looking for some tree/wooded/natural looking decor, can came across these inspirational photos. A Little Update: We're Having a Baby!

Um, we finished the kitchen. Well at least the counters and the sink, but not the cabinets yet. The day we started the kitchen we found out we're going to have a baby! I simply did not trust myself to blog about anything and not slip in a mention or two our accomplishment (yes we feel like we've done something fantastic) so I kept mum. Sorry to anyone who was waiting to hear how our new counters turned out. LOL There are very few people in my real life who knew about our struggles with getting pregnant. I have some friends from my elementary and middle school days who knew the basics. I basically kept everything off of Facebook since I'm just more private than that, and I assembled a team to help support me as we navigated the confusing and sometimes stupid world of infertility. So I owe a HUGE thank you to my TTC (Trying to Conceive) team; Chris , my boss at TreePeople who is an amazing inspiration and my example of what it means to be a wonderful and cool mom, Steph ,...

Eden Outdoors

Because our house is so small and LA weather is usually so nice, we spend a lot of time outside. I just realized that I've never photographed or blogged about any of our updated outdoor space so here's my first pass: Eden's Garden. When you first enter the yard Eden's area is hidden behind a large bougainvillea wall that sits at the end of the driveway. This used to be where the old wood-burning hot tub I hated lived and the outdoor shower area is just beyond so the previous owners erected this wall for privacy I guess. It works for us because you don't see a world of toys as soon as you walk into the yard. On the other side of the wall is the giant letter E I made for her first birthday party (gotta remember to post pics of that too) and a little hook we have for her outdoor hat.
