As we prepare to move into the next phase of our remodel, we're researching finishes for the kitchen. One option we're considering is butcher block.
Butcher-block countertops are warm, sustainable, easy to maintain, and totally go with our eco-cottage feeling in the house. Plus they're easy to cut to size and install - a must for our super shallow cabinets. I've been checking them out online and have come across several great inspiration photos for this material.

It might appear that some companies are practically giving away their butcher block countertops. This is because they finger joint random scraps of whatever wood they have and call it a butcher block.
ReplyDeleteMixed finger-jointed woods can have serious issues in time and you should stay away from them. So don't be like most people who just look at the price.
