I'm Back (and with a baby!) Time to Start Posting Again

I am overwhelmed to see how many people come to visit this blog each month -even when I'm not posting anything. And I am inspired to get back to posting and share all of the things we continue to do around here in the name of cheap and green.

But before moving on to the new stuff, I've got some updates to share on projects we've started but never shared. So over the next few days expect to see posts on the following projects;

1. The Baby. Yes we had our baby. A little girl we've named Eden. If you're interested she now has her own page at the top where you can see periodic photo updates of her. We've added a few but we definitely suffer from new parents syndrome so it will take me a while to get all of the dozens and dozens of pictures I've taken up there, but it will happen. Here is her birth announcement.

2. The Kitchen. We put in the new counters, sink and faucet (and remember the new back splash from last year) so we'll share those photos. Here's a "Before" photo to remind you of our ugly wooden countertops, faux brick back splash and nasty, ironically named "stainless" sink.

3. The Bathroom. Remember when I said that the previous owners had removed the bath tub and converted the space into an addition clothes closet and pantry? Well for the first time ever I am including a photo of what our shower used to look like. I'll share an update about the brand new tile, tub, and fixtures that make up the space now. Yay!

4. The Nursery - You'll remember the horrendous "office" as it was before complete with cork glued on the walls. I'll share what we've done to make it into a cute nursery for our little girl.

And of course we have lots of plans for 2012 here at our Little Green Cottage. Scott will be happy because a lot of the focus is outdoors including painting the exterior of the house in the spring, adding a kitchen vegetable and herb garden now that the outdoor shower is coming down, adding an outdoor patio living room to expand our living area, and we'll be making over our bedroom on a teeny tiny budget and reusing a lot of what we already have. Very exciting!

Thanks for continuing to follow and check in. Looking forward to 2012.
