- Remove the horrible paneling in the living room and paint the room a nice color
- Remove the scary platform bed in the bedroom and put up our nice new headboard
- Take down glued walls of cork in the smaller bedroom and repaint
- Remove the horrible vanity in the bathroom and replace it with a nice new sink as well as a new toilet
- Take out the sellers bizarre pantry where the shower should be and restore the original bathtub
- Remove 5 layers of wallpaper in the dining room and repaint
- Tidy up the kitchen and replace the ancient stove
These are just a few of the projects we've done. Most of this was done before our early October housewarming party.
Now we move into Phase Two of our Remodel. We have a pretty ambitious list and hope to have it all done before the 1 year mark - July 1, 2010. By that time we hope...
Outdoor Stuff
1. area across from house will be cleared, mulched, and beautiful cypress planted along the fence 2. front of house will be landscaped with new mailbox 3. dead tree will be gone and lawn will be lush and mowed 4. flowers will be blooming all over the yard 5. paths will be manicured 6. decks will be stained except for the one where the storage shed used to be- that will be gone 7. outdoor shower will be gone 8. front of house will be manicured and flowers planted 9. shingles will be removed and whole house will be painted
Indoor Stuff
1. crown molding will be up 2. upholstery on sofa will be cleaned 3. window shades will be stained darker 4. bookshelves will be installed 5. baby's room will either be staged as an office or cleared out for a nursery 6. bathroom walls will be repainted 7. bathroom wainscotting will be neat and complete 8. bathtub will be set up with gorgeous new faucet and walls of shower will be either tiled or painted 9. kitchen and dining room floors will be repainted with a shiny new coat on top 10. kitchen will have all new drawer fronts and cabinet doors, and paint (white) 11. new butcher block countertops 12. hole in dining room will be patched
